it's not possible. The only way your phone can blast is because of a short circuit within the battery. Theres no other possible real scenarios where your phone can blast. By battery I mean all the charging and wire related stuff.

when two people talk on phone , it converts the voice into an electrical signal via sampling 16 bit, 256 bit etc( you might have read that in college), which is then transmitted as radio waves and converted back into sound by re-sampling On the other phone. A basic mobile phone is therefore little more than a combined radio transmitter and a radio receiver much like a walkie-talkie. The major difference being walkie- talkies don't use s complex network while mobile useses hexagonal network which reroutes the signals and amplifies them in the entire process if hoax call attacker can blast your phone, it could only do at the time of sampling. Nowadays all sampling is digital( not analogue). Remember logic gates. All the control a programmer would have to manipulate digital signals of 0 and 1. While one can certainly manipulate s and 1s and introduce some noise into the system but not during the call. Blast can only be caused by a short circuit or overheating. Both of them are beyond the control of a programmer. People can speculate theories but there is no scientific logic or evidence or out of box thinking so far which can add an extraneous manipulating agent into this process. Hence the possibility is dismissed.
